ORIGINAL STORY

EA Sports are currently holding their FIFA Ultimate Team Championship as the best eSports players compete for the $400,000 cash prize.

But aside from the excitement around the competition itself, the EA Sports Twitter feed has announced that it's let to release some "exclusive info" on the upcoming FIFA 17 TOTS (Team of the Season) event taking place in the game.

The message is accompanied by a TOTS image for the BPL (British Premier League) so it's possible that EA could be preparing to reveal the Premier Leagues TOTS squad in the coming hours.

Which would make sense, as it was expected that EA would reveal another TOTS squad at some point later today.

If EA Sports do release the Premier League Team of the Season later today, it's possible that it could be the start of several big TOTS league reveals, with the Bundesliga, Calcio A, La Liga, Ligue 1 or Rest of the World likely to follow soon after.

The FIFA Ultimate Team Championship is currently live and fans can watch the event on the EA Sports website and Twitch.

In the meantime though, take a look at the gallery below for a prediction of who we could see in the Premier League TOTS Squad, as suggested by the experts at Futhead.com

The news of the release of the BPL TOTS squad comes after EA revealed the EFL (English Football League) Team of the Season squad earlier this week.

Unlike the FIFA 17 Most Consistent community voted gold, silver and bronze squads which kicked off the TOTS event, this latest team was formed of the EFL’s best players from the 2016/17 season, as selected by EA Sports.

The team is made up of a selection of players from the Championship, League 1 and League 2.

The team includes EFL Championship Player Of The Year Anthony Knockeart, who was also joined by teammates Lewis Dunk, David Stockdale and Championship winner Dwight Gayle from Newcastle.

This also follows the most recent FIFA 17 TOTW 35 squad announced on Wednesday.

The penultimate Team of the Week for FIFA 17 includes two Premier League players in the starting lineup, as well as two sitting on the bench.

Everton’s Phil Jagielka and Liverpool’s Coutinho were included in the starting line up in CB and CM roles respectively, while Kyle Naughton of Swansea and Chelsea’s Michy Batshuayi were also selected for the squad's reserves.

The full FIFA 17 TOTW 35 lineup can be found below:

Somewhere between the backdrop of all of the Team of the Season news, website's were recently flooded with a potential FIFA 18 "Leak" according to The Daily Mirror who first reported the news.

The "leaked" video appeared to show 24-year-old Manchester United ace, Paul Pogba, replacing Borussia Dortmund attacking midfielder Marco Reus as the game's cover star.

This FIFA 18 clip – available above – unfortunately turned out to be a big fat fake and was actually concept art designed by Twitter user @JamescDZN.

It's still fun to look at though, teasing a potential new menu interface, a revamped Alex Hunter Journey mode and the addition of FIFA Street, a fan favourite that's been requested for several years, but in all likelihood won't return to FIFA 18.

As it stands no one knows who the game's next cover star will be, but it's possible that EA Sports could once again put it to the public vote, commencing mid-June following EA's big E3 Show, dubbed EA Play.

All we really know about FIFA 18 so far, is that it will also come to Nintendo Switch.
